Il cancro del polmone continua a rappresentare una delle principali cause di mortalità per tumore a livello mondiale, con il carcinoma polmonare non a piccole cellule (NSCLC) che costituisce la maggior parte dei casi. Negli ultimi anni, i progressi nella diagnostica, nelle terapie target e nelle strategie perioperatorie hanno trasformato in modo significativo lo scenario terapeutico del NSCLC. Tuttavia, permangono sfide cliniche cruciali—soprattutto nella gestione del NSCLC resecabile wild type, dove strategie terapeutiche personalizzate possono influenzare l’esito chirurgico e la sopravvivenza a lungo termine, e nel NSCLC metastatico privo di driver oncogenici identificabili, in cui le opzioni terapeutiche restano limitate e complesse.
