Dr. Russo is a board-certified medical oncologist with interest in thoracic malignancies, immunotherapy and liquid biopsies. He is member of several national and international scientific societies, including the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), the Italian Association of Thoracic Oncology (AIOT), the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). Since 2023 he is member of the IASLC education committee.
