Prof. Pilotto is a medical oncologist, Associate Professor at the University of Verona. She completed her graduate studies and residency in medical oncology with full marks and honors at the University of Verona (Italy) and she trained in the Translational Research Unit at the Pangaea Biotech laboratory, Quiron-Dexeus University Hospital, Barcelona (Spain) thanks to a fellowship award of the International Association for Lung Cancer (IASLC) in 2015. In 2019, she completed her PhD in Inflammation, Immunity and Cancer at the University of Verona (Italy). Prof. Pilotto is leading the clinical and research team dedicated to thoracic malignancies at the University of Verona, as well as the FORCE (Focus on research and care) team, an integrated group dedicated to a comprehensive approach to patients with cancer.

Prof. Pilotto is member of the Lung cancer Guidelines Experts Panel of Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM), committee member of the Multidisciplinary Clinical Science Committee of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and member of the ESMO leadership program 2019.

​Prof.  Pilotto has extensive experience in speaking on the topic of oncology at multiple congresses. Further, has contributed to over 50 clinical trials and more than 220 peer-review publications in journals.
